How it started...…

Divi Tree Coffee opened its doors on October 27, 2017 and they haven't looked back. Owners, Joe and Maylon Torrisi are a local love story. Joe, your favorite neighborhood barkeep, relied on caffeine to maintain his bubbly personality. Day in and day out, in need of a java fix, he would visit his favorite barista, eventually visiting simply for the conversation, and soon a beautiful relationship formed. Now happily married, they turned their mutual passion into a brewing business they are happy to share with the community.

From the beginning, "we knew Point Pleasant was where we belonged." The beautiful woodwork, cozy seating, tons of windows and the view of bustling Bridge Avenue immediately created what many now refer to as Divi Tree's "vibe." The shop has become a neighborhood staple - from local students to business meetings to families grabbing a treat - you are bound to meet a neighbor or friend in our shop.

Now, you can find them in the kitchen making breakfast or behind the counter mixing up lattes. "At Divi Tree Coffee, we pride ourselves on quality products made from the best ingredients and expert service with a smile." Gourmet coffee, freshly prepared baked goods and a vibrant atmosphere, Divi Tree Coffee is your one stop shop. Stop in for a cup of Joe, a bag of beans, and good eats.

5 years later...

We are glad to say Divi Tree has been growing every year. We have not only grown business wise but we have also extended our family. We kicked off 2019 with our wedding. Followed by adopting two rescues, Belle and Benji. Each of our pups were adopted from local rescues, Monmouth County SPCA and All Fur One Pet Rescue.

And most importantly we recently welcomed our beautiful baby boy, Philip John, into the family!

Last September, we launched our own app. This now gives customers the ability to order ahead, pay online and skip the line to pick up. We have added a few new food items and pastries to our menu. WE hope you enjoy all the additions as much as we do!

Why Divi Tree?

Joe's family has vacationed in the small island of Aruba since he was a young child. Joe & Maylon even took their first vacation together there and have revisited annually ever since! They drew their business inspiration from their home away from home. Did you know the Divi Tree is the native tree of Aruba? Their growth is contorted by the trade winds that batter the exposed coastal sites where it often grows. Their twisted roots and limbs often appear to be dancing along the coast.

Hand-roasted in small batches by craft roasters for four generations. Our suppliers source, cup, craft-roast and deliver only the best beans the world has to offer. These include sustainable Direct Trade, Fair Trade, Certified Organic and Rainforest Alliance selections chosen with special consideration for the well-being of cooperative farmers, wildlife and the Earth.

Divi Tree believes in supporting the town of Point Pleasant, it’s residents, schools and local business community. Our mission is to provide our customers with a welcoming environment, fantastic coffee, teas and delicious bites.
